Press Release Digest, September 17-18, 2026

September 18, 2026 By admin

AI infrastructure & semiconductors

CoreWeave had three separate releases: a proposed $3.0 billion convertible senior notes offering, a new at-the-market equity offering program, and a note that it’s still signing new compute capacity deals at higher prices. Three fundraising-adjacent releases in one week from a GPU cloud name is worth a look given semiconductor and AI infra exposure. ASUS and Poesis also announced a partnership on autonomous trading agents built on NVIDIA technology. CambridgeNexus put out a release on expanding US AI factory deployments. F5 was named a “Market Shaper” in a new Gartner quadrant for AI application security, and CrowdStrike was named a leader in threat intelligence by an independent research firm.

Quantum computing

Three separate items: IQM says it will deliver its first quantum computer in South America, to Brazil’s Eldorado Research Institute. Riverlane is opening a US headquarters in Maryland. IonQ published data claiming its quantum tech accelerated a computer-aided engineering workload by up to 14.6%. Worth noting as a cluster since it’s three quantum vendors making news in the same week.

Funding rounds worth flagging

Raindrop raised a Series A bringing total funding to $50 million, led by CRV, for a product aimed at catching AI agent failures. Comp AI raised $34 million for agentic compliance and cybersecurity tools. Luzern Risk raised a $45 million Series B led by Insight Partners. Altis Labs raised $25 million to accelerate AI-driven clinical trial endpoints, and separately presented Phase 3 lung cancer trial data at a medical conference this week. Polyphron raised $20 million for what it calls a physical verification layer for AI-driven biology. CorePower Magnetics raised $10.6 million targeting a bottleneck in AI, grid, and electrification infrastructure. TigerByte Cyber emerged from stealth with $3 million seed plus more than $7 million in government contracts (DARPA, Space Force) to protect satellites and aircraft from cyberattacks. Nex raised over $150 million to take its Nex Playground business global. Antfly raised $2 million led by Heavybit for what it’s calling a retrieval engine for AI.

Defense, space & satellites

Vantor selected EnduroSat and CACI to build a high-revisit pulse satellite fleet. Elroy Air announced Bristow reserved 10 additional early delivery positions for its Chaparral aircraft. Rune Technologies got a $4.1 million US Army award for logistics modernization and autonomous resupply. ABZ Innovation opened one of Europe’s largest civilian drone manufacturing facilities.

Crypto & fintech

Metra and GoldCoin Labs announced a move from a UAE gold hub toward a Nasdaq listing, framed around digital gold finance. Two Prime launched an Axiom WBTC yield vault on Pareto. BitGo appointed Alex Rozman as Chief Compliance Officer. Accelerate completed a second infrastructure asset-backed securitization, citing strong institutional demand.

Energy & materials

Sila announced executive appointments as it ramps toward gigascale battery material production in the US. GasEntec got approval in principle from Lloyd’s Register for a large-scale FSRU regasification design. Schneider Electric closed its Innovation Summit Middle East & Africa, with energy intelligence framed as the next phase of the energy transition.

Data points worth citing

A couple of research stats stood out as citable facts rather than events: Omdia reported US PC shipments fell 7.0% in Q1 2026, the steepest drop since 2023. Omdia separately reported open wireless stereo (OWS) earbud shipments grew 12% while true wireless stereo (TWS) stayed flat in Q2. Mintlify’s 2026 State of Knowledge Report claims AI agents have overtaken humans as the primary readers of company documentation, a striking one-line stat for an AI-adoption piece.
