The Investments & Wealth Institute 2019 Investment Advisor Forum: Portfolio Construction Strategies, will be held February 11-12, 2019 at the New York Hilton Midtown, New York, NY

December 13, 2018 By admin Leave a Comment

One of the featured speakers will be Diana B. Henriques, an award-winning financial journalist, and author of A First-Class Catastrophe: The Road to Black Monday, the Worst Day in Wall Street History; and The Wizard of Lies: Bernie Madoff and the Death of Trust, a New York Times best seller. The Wizard of Lies was also adapted into a film with Robert De Niro in the starring role. Ms. Henriques also makes an appearance, playing herself as the first journalist to interview Madoff in prison, airing on HBO in May 2017.

“Our volunteer program committees go out of their way to deliver best-in-class ethics presenters at each and every Institute conference. Ms. Henriques’ extensive investigative reporting on white-collar crime, market regulation and corporate governance gives her unique insights and perspective,” said Sean Walters, CAE, Investments & Wealth Institute, chief executive officer. Adding, “Our Code of Professional Responsibility sets a high standard to help advisors enhance the quality of advice and consulting offered to the public.”

Ms. Henriques’ session will discuss how Madoff’s fraud worked and how a better understanding of it can inform a smarter approach to this hazard for all investors and for financial professionals trying to keep investors safe from predators such as Madoff.

The two-day conference will feature seven general sessions and 8 specialized workshops. The agenda features the following experts:

Richard Marston, Ph.D., James R. F. Guy Professor of Finance, The Wharton School
Toby Moskowitz Ph.D., Dean Takahashi Professor of Finance, Yale School of Management
Andrew Friedman, J.D., Founder & Principal, The Washington Update
Jim Sandidge, J.D., Principal, The Sandidge Group
Patrick Nolan, CFA®., Senior Portfolio Strategist, BlackRock Portfolio Solutions Team
Herman Brodie, Founding Director, Prospecta Ltd.
The Investment Advisor Forum focuses on issues and topics central to the Certified Investment Management Analyst® (CIMA®) certification program.
