We’re proud to welcome Tristan Harris and Roger McNamee as speakers to DLD20 from January 18–20, 2020, in Munich.
Both are prominent voices in the debate around voter manipulation, “fake news” and the undermining of trust in democracy.
Tristan, a former data ethics specialist at Google, co-created the Center for Humane Technology because he’s worried about society’s polarization and the “breakdown of truth.” Roger, an early investor in Facebook and mentor to founder Mark Zuckerberg, became a vocal critic because he felt the company wasn’t doing enough to battle misinformation. His book Zucked became a bestseller in 2019.
But there’s much more, of course. On two stages, over three days, we’ll be discussing a broad, exciting range of topics.
Flying cars: Meet Sebastian Thrun, CEO of Kitty Hawk.
Art: Snapchat CEO Evan Spiegel will explore the democratization of photography with Alex Israel and Hans Ulrich Obrist.
Green New Deal: Economist Jeremy Rifkin will explain why he believes the fossil fuel civilization is collapsing.
