-Apogee, higher education’s largest provider of managed technology services, today announced that the company will be participating in two speaking panels at the National Association of College and University Business Officers (NACUBO) 2019 annual meeting on July 13-16 in Austin, TX. “The IoT Movement: Its Impact on Strategic Goals” Panel
Apogee CTO Rajiv Shenoy will moderate “The IoT Movement: Its Impact on Strategic Goals” panel. Part of Sunday TECHTalks, this session will address how the Internet of Things can revolutionize campuses, but implementing it is more than a technological question, it’s a matter of strategy and leadership. Four higher ed leaders will share how they leveraged the IoT movement to advance their strategic goals. Panelists include:

Dr. Morgan R. Olsen: Executive Vice President, Treasurer and Chief Financial Officer, Arizona State University
Chris Richardson: Deputy CIO – IT Development, Mobility, Smart Cities, Arizona State University
Chuck Benson: Assistant Director for IT, Facilities Services, University of Washington
Rajiv Shenoy: Chief Technology Officer, Apogee
“From robots helping students to administer labs virtually to sensors monitoring energy usage to Uber-like golf carts that reduce congestion, IoT is helping schools advance their strategic goals,” said Shenoy. “Our panelists will shed light on how the IoT movement can help drive management, learning, research, and the entire university experience.”

“Dare to Go Digital: How to Embrace Technology to Meet Strategic Goals” Panel
Apogee Executive Vice President Matt Loecke will moderate the panel: “Dare to Go Digital: How to Embrace Technology to Meet Strategic Goals.” This panel brings together Emory & Henry College, a small, private school; University of Alabama, the state’s flagship university; historic Curry College; Apogee; and Huron Consulting Group to provide their perspectives on how utilizing technology can help drive strategic goals and improve many facets of university life. Panelists include:

Rick Gaumer: Interim Vice President for Business and Finance, Lyon College (formerly with Emory & Henry College)
Matthew M. Fajack: Vice President for Finance and Operations and Treasurer, The University of Alabama
Deborah Gelch: Chief Information Officer, Curry College
Matt Loecke: Executive Vice President, Apogee
Greg Bedell: Managing Director, Huron Consulting
“Technology innovation is critical to achieving strategic goals, but some business officers are hesitant to initiate technology conversations when resources are overextended,” said Loecke. “By bringing together these higher education experts to share their perspectives, we believe participants will gain an understanding of how strategic planning and execution are bolstered when technological initiatives are prioritized.”
