April 23, 2019 By admin Leave a Comment

Population health management leader Arcadia.io announced today that former Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) Acting Administrator Andy Slavitt will be the keynote speaker at its annual Aggregate event in Boston from April 24-26, 2019. The industry event will convene healthcare leaders from across the country to discuss strategies for success under value-based care.

Slavitt is currently senior advisor to the Bipartisan Policy Center and is a member of its Future of Health Care Initiative. Slavitt is also co-founder of Town Hall Ventures, a venture fund that invests in healthcare companies that serve vulnerable and underserved populations covered by Medicare and Medicaid.

During Slavitt’s CMS tenure from 2015 to 2017, he led numerous population health management-related initiatives including driving the nation’s largest payer toward value-based care payment models, the implementation of the value-based-care-focused MACRA legislation, and the expansion of the Medicare Shared Savings Program. Prior to CMS, Slavitt worked at UnitedHealth Group, eventually serving as the group executive vice president for Optum which he grew to a $40 billion health services enterprise.

Featured Speakers include Healthcare Leaders from Across the Country

In addition to Slavitt, Aggregate will feature sessions with national industry leaders. Arcadia customers will learn about best practices and strategies, engage with industry analysts and other thought leaders, explore trends and developments in population health, and share innovative solutions to promote financial sustainability as the healthcare industry moves from volume to value.

Speaker Andrew Croshaw, MBA is the chief executive officer of Leavitt Partners, one of the nation’s leading health care intelligence firms. Prior to joining Leavitt Partners, he was a senior executive advisor to Secretary Mike Leavitt at the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services where he managed the overall implementation of a signature department initiative to improve the connectivity, transparency, and value of America’s health care system.

Arcadia advisor and thought leader John Halamka, MD, MS will also share his insights on innovation with Arcadia customers. In addition to his work as a practicing emergency physician and the International Healthcare Innovation Professor at Harvard Medical School, Dr. Halamka was recently named the executive director of the Beth Israel Lahey Health Technology Exploration Center. Previously, he served for over 20 years as the chief information officer (CIO) at the Beth Israel Deaconess Healthcare System.

Leaders of Arcadia customer health systems and health plans will share strategic insights and best practices. Attendees will hear from:

Large ACOs and CINs creating interoperability across multiple hospitals and provider groups
Innovative community health leaders
Provider-owned health plans partnering with their communities to improve care
Independent physician groups taking on and succeeding under risk
Population health experts from some of the largest health plans and health systems in the United States
Aggregate comes on the heels of Arcadia being ranked 2019 Best in KLAS in the Value-Based Care Managed Services segment with a score of 89.5. The award was announced in the 2019 Best in KLAS: Software & Services Report, which is based on verified customer interviews conducted by KLAS over a 12-month period. At Aggregate, the team behind Arcadia’s No. 1 KLAS-ranked solution will offer an exclusive in-depth look at the Arcadia Analytics product road map and offer clients the opportunity to help shape new features.

“We are acutely aware of the rapidly changing healthcare environment that our customers are working in every day, and realize how critical it is to provide a forum for them to openly discuss the challenges they face,” said Sean Carroll, CEO of Arcadia. “Through this event we hope that attendees will takeaway key insights and information that can help propel their organizations to the next stage of value-based care. We also know that attendees will make connections with each other to form long-lasting relationships that will help evolve the industry.”
